Aerial Boom Lift: Three-Person Working Capacity

Recently launched in the North American market, the 450AJ HC3 boom lift has a maximum platform height of 45 ft, with a horizontal outreach of 25 ft. It can hold up to three occupants for three capacity zones, at 660 lb, 750 lb and 1,000 lb. It comes with the manufacturer’s automatic load-sensing system and a zero-calibration feature, which allows the platform to be recalibrated without using external weights. A built-in alarm helps keep the platform within the working range, warning the operator if the safe envelope is exceeded. The lift is ANSI A92.20/CSA B354.6 compliant. JLG; www.jlg.com

Powered-Up Cordless: 40V Max and 80V Max

Makita is getting into the 40V max market with the recently launched XGT System. A lineup of more than 50 tools will offer either 40V max or 80V max power, which simply combines two 40V max batteries. The tools’ brushless motors now have more copper windings and rare earth magnets, which can help to increase the life of the tools, according to the manufacturer. The tools will tackle applications seen as overly demanding for Makita’s 18V LXT battery platform, including demolition hammers and full-size circular saws. Wheel Buggy: Now Fully Electric

The AW16-B wheel buggy is the first buggy powered by an electric motor from the manufacturer. Its battery provides an overall eight-hour run time, with six hours of constant run time. Rubber isolators help reduce vibration for the operator. An LED control panel provides information for monitoring battery life and system operations. A limited-slip transaxle allows for a smoother ride, while a dynamic electric brake prevents the buggy from moving when the throttle is not engaged. Compact Track Loader: Integrated Grade Control

In a first for its compact equipment, Deere’s grade control technology, SmartGrade, will be fully integrated into its 333G compact track loader. The technology will help improve completion time and precision of grading as well as lower the overall number of passes needed for grading tasks, according to the manufacturer. The loader is equipped with a six-way dozer blade attachment able to cut a grade and spread material.
