Daechang Seat Co. is planning to construct a new metal automotive seat frames manufacturing plant on a 22-acre site at the Phenix Industrial Park in Phenix City. The project scope includes construction of a 200,000-sq-ft building; installation of stamping presses and molding, bending, arc and spot welding assembly and inspection equipment. Marshall Design-Build LLC has been selected to provide design-build services for the building. Site preparation is underway; building construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2022. CALIFORNIA

Busseto Foods Inc. is planning to construct a new dried meats processing and distribution facility on an 18.9-acre site in Fresno. The project scope includes construction of a 477,000-sq-ft, two-story building; and purchase, relocation and installation of freezers, automated conveyors, ingredient storage and dispensing, refrigeration, and fermentation, drying, slicing and packaging equipment, and dock equipment for 24 loading docks. The facility will have the capacity to produce 500,000 to 600,000 lb per week of salami, pancetta, coppa and prosciutto. Associated Design & Engineering Inc. has been selected to provide architectural design services for the project. Contractor selection and equipment procurement are expected to begin in the late second or early third quarter of 2022. The estimated EPC cost is between $40 million and $50 million. OKLAHOMA

Panasonic Energy of North America is considering constructing an electric vehicle battery-cell manufacturing plant in Tulsa or at an unselected site in Kansas. The project scope includes design and construction of a 3- million-sq-ft building with cleanrooms; installation of electrode mixing, coating and forming and battery cell assembly and conditioning equipment; and purchase and installation of chemical storage tanks, and raw material storage and conveying, robotic cell handling, and supporting equipment.
