APM Terminals North America and Canadian National Railway Co. are planning to expand the APM Terminals port rail service in Mobile. The project includes adding track, railyard storage and improved access to reach a total of about 12,000 ft of working rail track. The project is valued at $60 million. CONNECTICUT

The city of Norwalk is planning to construct a new Norwalk High School building on the site of the existing school’s football field. It will be 330,000 sq ft and is being designed by Kaestle Boos Associates Inc. Gilbane Building Co. has been chosen as the construction manager at-risk. MARYLAND

Schwaber Holdings plans to redevelop the Lutherville-Timonium Shopping Center in Timonium. To be called Lutherville Station, the 13-acre mixed-use development will include a 400-unit apartment building in addition to 200,000 sq ft of office space and 21,300 sq ft of retail space. NEVADA

Hard Rock International is planning to build a Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The 36-story, guitar-shaped hotel at 3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd. will contain between 800 and 1,000 rooms and a Strip-facing casino. It is being designed by Klai Juba Wald Architects, and construction is expected to begin in 2024. OKLAHOMA

Construction manager Flintco Inc. is currently evaluating submitted subcontractor bids to carry out the construction of two five-story dorm buildings for the University of Oklahoma in Norman. In addition to dorm rooms, each building will have a lounge area and a large storm shelter. The buildings are being designed by the Architectural Design Group. WISCONSIN

JCP Construction and Miron Construction Co. have started building a concert hall venue in Milwaukee. The four-story, 210,000-sq-ft building will contain two venues with capacities of up to 800 and 4,000 people. It has been designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects Inc. The project is valued at $50 million. It will occupy approximately one-third of the 7.2-acre Bradley Center site, the former home arena for the Milwaukee Bucks until it was demolished in 2019. 3/30 The New York City Transit Authority is requesting proposals for design-build services to carry out wind retrofit and structural rehabilitation of the Robert F. Kennedy East River Suspended Spans, Queens Anchorage and Wards Island Anchorage and construction of new widened sidewalks/walkways to improve pedestrian and bicycle access between Queens and Wards Island. The work also includes live loads and seismic improvement, new main cable and anchorage dehumidification, new cable acoustic monitoring, new weigh-in-motion devices, improvements at Queens Anchorage and overcoat painting of steel superstructures. WASHINGTON

8/8 The Washington State Dept. of Transportation is requesting proposals for design-build services for carrying out the Interstate 5/Montlake Terrace Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project in King County. The project will replace the existing Portage Bay Bridge 520/3 with two new parallel variable depth segmental box girder bridges across Portage Bay, the existing State Route 520 eastbound off-ramp structure to Montlake Boulevard East and the existing 10th Ave E. and Delmar E. under-crossings with a new Roanoke Lid Bridge. This project will also extend the SR 520’s transit/HOV system from Montlake to I-5 and the cross-lake bicycle and pedestrian trail over Portage Bay.
