GE Johnson Construction recently broke ground on a project to modernize Falcon Stadium at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. GE Johnson and HKS are transforming the stadium into a world-class venue and year-round destination for events. This third phase of the master plan for the stadium will be complete by the 2024 football season. The stadium’s new focal point, the East Concourse, will be replaced with the new East Club, designed with 1,200 premium seats and a state-of-the-art, club-level experience. The East Club will provide panoramic views of Falcon Stadium during athletic competitions, special events and corporate gatherings. The stadium will remain open for events during construction.

Mortenson Construction produced a week of events designed to educate, connect and empower women in construction, architecture and engineering careers from March 6-10. Women in Construction (WIC) events took place in Salt Lake City and Denver, bringing together more than 600 women. Themes included allyship, mentorship, jobsite culture, networking and community. Throughout the week, Mortenson Denver also hosted a Craft TM celebration lunch and a WIC Day of Service, where 100 Mortenson team members volunteered more than 400 hours for nonprofits including Girls Inc., Transportation & Construction Girl, STEMblazers, Florence Crittenton, Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver, Mile High Youth Corps, Third Way Center and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance.

“Our work during WIC Week is about recognizing that we all benefit when women are represented at every level and in every role,” says Maja Rosenquist, Mortenson senior vice president.
