Tempe, Arizona-based Architekton, founded in 1989, had a banner year in 2022 in terms of notable project completions and awards. According to the firm, last year Architekton received its 5th Goodwin Award from the Arizona chapter of the American Institute of Architects, an award that celebrates successful collaboration in the design and construction industry. Also in 2022, two of its recent projects—the Helios Education Foundation Campus and Arizona State University's Walton Center for Planetary Health—each won more than seven awards.

That second project, ASU's Walton Center for Planetary Health, also was recognized by ENR Southwest as its 2022 Southwest Project of the Year. Another of Architekton's building designs, the Avondale Visitor and Conference Center, earned ENR Southwest's Best Government/Public Building award.

In its entry information for consideration as Southwest Design Firm of the Year, the firm wrote: "Taking an interactive approach to design, Architekton combines our design talent with advanced technology to integrate climate, context and other site-specific issues. Architekton excels in complex, multi-user programs with difficult sites. Sustainability, durability, security and energy efficiency are just a few of the major other important considerations integrated into design solutions."

Architekton’s services include master planning, programming, design, construction documentation, specification writing, construction administration, architectural models, perspective renderings, and multimedia animations.
