Viridos Inc., formerly Synthetic Genomics Inc., is planning to construct a demonstration-scale algae-to-biofuel plant at a yet-to-be-selected site. The project scope includes construction of building space, outdoor seawater storage vessels and equipment foundations, as well as purchase and installation of algae bioreactor systems, fuel storage tanks, oil extraction systems, columns, process vessels, centrifuges, filters and loadout equipment. The plant will grow and process algae and have the capacity to produce 100 barrels of biofuels per day including sustainable aviation fuel. Construction is expected to begin in 2025. MONTANA

A partnership of startup company Cyan H2 LLC and the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, to be known as Assiniboine-Sioux Hydrogen Company, is considering constructing a green hydrogen plant, carbon dioxide sequestration facility and wind energy farm at the Fort Peck Reservation in Fort Peck. The project scope includes construction of buildings, a substation, a connector pipeline, and monitoring and injection wells; erection of wind-powered generators on tubular steel towers; and purchase and installation of electrolyzer units, hydrogen and fuel tanks, transformers, and gas purification equipment. The wind energy farm would have the capacity to generate 1 GW of electric power. An EPC firm has been preselected for the wind farm. SOUTH CAROLINA

Cirba Solutions is planning to construct a battery recycling plant at a 200-acre site in the Pineview Industrial Park in Richland County. Phase I scope includes construction of a 400,000-sq-ft building as well as purchase and installation of battery receiving and handling equipment, process vessels, and shredding, separation, and extraction equipment. The plant will process end-of-life hybrid and electric vehicle batteries, Gigafactory scrap and end-of-life consumer batteries to produce battery-grade raw materials for 500,000 electric vehicles per year.
