Viridos Inc., formerly Synthetic Genomics Inc., is planning to construct a demonstration-scale algae-to-biofuel plant at a yet-to-be-selected site. The project scope includes construction of building space, outdoor seawater storage vessels and equipment foundations, as well as purchase and installation of algae bioreactor systems, fuel storage tanks, oil extraction systems, columns, process vessels, centrifuges, filters and loadout equipment. The plant will grow and process algae and have the capacity to produce 100 barrels of biofuels per day including sustainable aviation fuel. Construction is expected to begin in 2025.
