Erich Metzger is the Senior Director of Strategic Development at Charge, an underground utility, design-build construction firm headquartered in Sacramento, Calif. During his 14 years at Charge he has helped it achieve transformative growth. He has served in many leadership roles there, ranging from field operations, to leading the Safety Department and developing its Quality and Training departments. With more than 30-years experience in construction overall, he has a proven track record for successfully managing the technical and budget-intensive aspects of large or complex projects. In his current role, he studies market opportunities and emerging challenges and technologies to provide complete solutions for utility providers. He also draws on his construction experience— plus his 23-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps. — to mentor the next generation of construction professionals.
